2 things to pay for when you start a blog
There are so many free resources out there for starting a blog. In fact, I created a Pinterest board dedicated to just that! That being said, there are two things that I believe you should pay for when you start a blog. If you want to start a money making blog, spending money when you’re just starting out can be really hard to do. I don’t want you to spend more money than you have to, so these are the two things that have helped me the most when starting my blog.
I have been using Amazon Prime for several years now. I have found it to be extremely useful and even though I’m sure I could live without it, I don’t want to! The $99 yearly fee has been well worth it, and we save a lot of money every year.
I’ve had several questions about Amazon Prime, how to use Amazon Prime, and how to get the most out of an Amazon Prime membership. I want to share some tricks that I’ve learned while using Amazon over the years. If you don’t already have an Amazon Prime account, you can try Amazon Prime for free for 30 days.
What you probably already know is that Amazon has great prices, and offers 2 day shipping on Prime eligible items. What you may not know is that there is much, much more to Prime! Keep reading to find out how to use Amazon Prime and get the most out of your $99 subscription.
5 Year Old Birthday Gift Ideas
Fun Fact: All six of our kids have birthdays in May-August. This means that “birthday season” is kicking off at our house today. We actually aren’t doing big birthday gifts or parties this year, but instead we are taking all the kids on a summer trip and celebrating with activities instead of gifts. Even though that is what we are doing, I wanted to share some birthday ideas for all the birthday parties that you might be attending this summer.
Miss M is turning 5 today, so I am kicking it off with 5 year old birthday gift ideas. All of the items listed are from Amazon, although you can purchase most of them anywhere. If you don’t currently have Amazon Prime, you can try it for free for 30 days. Use this link to get your Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial. I am including gift ideas for girls and boys, my daughter is pretty girly, but lots of girls like trucks and dinosaurs too!
I am finally back from Hawaii and getting back to focusing on the blog full time. I am so excited to share some of my third trip to the Big Island along with travel tips and ideas. May will be filled with travel tips and ideas, as well as many other ideas for summer fun. Make sure to follow me on Pinterest or sign up for my weekly newsletter for all the latest!
For now, I wanted to do a special post because of Earth Day. Any type of lifestyle change can be challenging, but will seem more more attainable if you take small steps. The following are 5 easy swaps for a greener, cleaner lifestyle. All of these swaps are things that I have done, or currently do and the best part is they’re all really simple!
A Minimal Wardrobe | The KonMari Way
If you haven’t read “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Mari Kondo, I strongly suggest that you grab a copy! I am working on another blog post about The Konmari method – with kids, so keep an eye out for that too. The Konmari method is fairly simple, you purge the unnecessary and only keep what “sparks joy.” I consider it minimalism with a purpose.
I recently went through my closet, several times, and weeded out the all of the things that I didn’t love, or didn’t wear. I was looking for a minimal wardrobe, the KonMari way. Honestly, the results were pretty shocking.
The 4 Things You Should Do Every Day for Maximum Productivity
Every day has 24 hours, but some seem to be so much shorter than the others. These 4 things you should do every day will help you maximize those hours in the day, and get organized from the time that you wake up. I’m not a time management expert, but between balancing a family, working from home & a photography business, I do try to keep things as organized as possible.
There are a few tricks that I have learned that can help maximize productivity. I also like to start with coffee, before anything else! Here are the 4 things that you should do every day (after coffee) for a more productive day.
I usually post on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, but this week I am adding an additional Friday post because we are leaving for Hawaii today! So, what am I packing for Hawaii? In two words: not much.
I am not a travel expert, but I do know that packing less = less hassle and no checked bag fees. I like saving money! $35 to check a bag seems pretty crazy, and it’s a huge hassle if you have to change planes. We do have to change planes, twice. My husband and I are each taking one bag as a carry on. I could have taken a bigger bag since mine could technically be considered a personal item, but I decided not to since everything that I needed already fit. This is my third trip to the Big Island, but my husbands first. We are both very excited! So,what am I packing for Hawaii? Keep reading!

How to save on a moving truck
Renting a truck to haul your stuff is one of the biggest expenses that comes along with moving. Fortunately, there are a few tips on how to save on a moving truck that you can use if you’re planning a move.
First of all, I have to say that I have had a bad experience with U-Haul a few years ago. I actually wrote several reviews as well as a blog post. U-Haul not have the truck that I reserved weeks in advance, and they were also horribly rude. The customer service was awful, and I didn’t want to rent a U-Haul truck again. I promise this isn’t a post to complain about that experience, but I do want to warn my readers about it because I don’t want anyone to have to deal with what I dealt with. When you think of moving trucks, you probably think of U-Haul first, so I started looking into other options.
So you’re here because you want to start a blog. Awesome! Running a blog can be a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun. I truly enjoy having a platform to share information with my readers. I have been blogging since 2011, and I really enjoy it. The best part about having a blog is that it can also be profitable. Making money blogging takes a lot of effort, and it doesn’t happen overnight. However, it is a very real way to work from home and have extra income, or even make more money than working outside of the home. The most important thing to remember if you want to have a profitable blog is to be self hosted through WordPress.org. Don’t worry, I will walk you through the steps one-by-one!
Welcome to the Cloth Diapering 101 Series! Part two is all about how to wash cloth diapers. Make sure to check out Part 1 – Different Types of Cloth Diapers.
I believe that the number one reason why parents don’t stick with cloth diapering is laundry issues. Diaper laundry can be extremely simple once you get in to a routine, but finding a routine that works for you can be challenging. What works for one family may not work for another. Washing cloth diapers can seem very complicated for the beginner. I created this post to explain diaper laundry as simply as possible. Here are some common questions that a new cloth diapering parent might have about laundry.
How Does Ebates work?
If you’re wondering how Ebates works, and whether or not it’s legit, you’re in the right place! I have been using Ebates for cash back since 2011 and I absolutely love it! I do love to use Swagbucks, but sometimes the cash back percentage is bigger on Ebates. If you want actual cash, and not gift cards, Ebates is definitely the way to go. The bottom line is, if you’re doing any kind of shopping online and not getting cash back, you’re missing out! I decided to write this guide to show you how to use Ebates, because it’s so simple!

9 Moving Tips for a Stress-Free Move
I am almost a professional mover. Not the kind of professional mover that gets paid to move other people. I have moved at least 25 times (I lost count) mostly when I was younger and then as an adult before I had kids. We are getting ready for a move to another state, and I am trying to gather some moving tips to help make the process simpler. Moving isn’t fun, plain and simple. However, there are a few moving tips that you can use to make the process a little easier.
