5 reasons you might need a Hawaii Travel Agent
Are you planning a Hawaii vacation? Here are five reasons to consider working with a Hawaii Travel Agent.
Before we get started, let me introduce myself. My name is Amy, and I’m a Hawaii Travel Agent. I’m one of the top travel agents for Hawaii, and creating fantastic custom trips in Hawaii is my passion! Contact me today to help plan and book your Hawaii vacation.

By the way, you probably need a rental car in Hawaii! I recommend Discount Hawaii Car Rental. They offer the best prices on rental cars, and you can reserve now and pay upon arrival. It’s optional on Oahu but still recommended. On any other island, a rental car is a must.

Here are 5 reasons to consider working with a Hawaii Travel Agent.
1. Stress-Free Planning
Planning a vacation to Hawaii is a lot of work. You start with figuring out which island to visit, which is a lot to consider! What about island hopping? Does Hawaii have all-inclusive resorts? How much does it cost to visit Hawaii?
Honestly, planning a trip to Hawaii can feel like a full-time job. Working with a Hawaii Travel Agent will take all the stress out of the equation. Why not save time – and stress – by working with an expert?

I know the islands like the back of my hand. I’ve been to most of the major resorts, and I’ve done all the “tourist” things. More importantly, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and can share not only my opinion but also an overall view based on the feedback of many, many clients.
2. Local expertise and insider knowledge
Any travel agent can book a trip to Hawaii. However, you’d be surprised that most agents know nothing about Hawaii! I’m in many travel agent groups, and I see agents who know less about Hawaii than the general public.
Choosing a Hawaii Travel Agent ensures you’re working with someone specializing in Hawaii. That insider knowledge can be valuable so you know things like:
- Which restaurants require reservations
- What needs to be booked in advance
- Hidden beaches
- and so much more!
This is one of the best places to eat in Maui; reservations are gone months in advance. This is just one example of insider knowledge.
3. Access to exclusive packages
Did you know that travel agents often have access to exclusive rates and packages? While this isn’t always the case, it often is. For example, I’m frequently able to get a rate for my clients that includes breakfast for the same price as if they booked on their own. Sometimes, you may find specific amenities and other things only available if you book through a knowledgeable travel agent.
I recently had access to an exclusive rate for this beautiful resort, where my clients received free breakfast, a reduced resort fee, and a $75/day resort credit—all for less than the regular price.
4. Support and assistance
You can book a Hawaii vacation through any large online travel company. However, who is there to answer questions? A call center? Someone who has never been to Hawaii?
When working with a Hawaii Travel Agent, you’ll have access to ONE person who can answer questions before and during your vacation! I even take it a step further and work with suppliers who can provide support in the unlikely event that I’m unavailable (think: on an airplane.)
Honestly, this is the best reason to work with a Hawaii Travel Agent. It’s unlikely that anything will go wrong, but what if it does? Then, you have someone to talk to and help fix the problem, whatever it may be. This alone is so valuable!
5. Custom itineraries
Not every Hawaii Travel Agent offers custom itineraries, but I do! Every client has their own itinerary customized as much or as little as they’d like. I’ll be there from the start to help book flights, accommodations, and anything else you need.
I also assist in booking activities and let you know if restaurants or state parks require reservations. Closer to the date of your trip, my assistant and I create a beautiful itinerary for you with all of your info in one place!
So, there are five reasons to consider working with a travel agent for Hawaii. Have you already booked your trip? Don’t worry; I have created Hawaii itineraries for those who can’t work with me due to already booking. I also have a service where I do itinerary-only, although it’s a higher cost. Reach out today if you’re interested, or check out my pre-made itineraries!
