Wellness resorts in Hawaii
Are there any wellness resorts in Hawaii? Hawaii may not be the first place you think of when it comes to wellness resorts, but yes, there are wellness resorts in Hawaii! Today, we will discuss some of the wellness-oriented resorts in Hawaii.
There are varying degrees of wellness resorts in Hawaii from regular resorts with a few special offerings to resorts that focus almost exclusively on wellness.
Before we get started, let me introduce myself. My name is Amy, and I’m a Hawaii Travel Agent. I’m one of the top travel agents for Hawaii, and creating fantastic custom trips in Hawaii is my passion! Contact me today to help plan and book your Hawaii vacation.

DO I NEED A RENTAL CAR IN Hawaii?
If you are looking for a wellness resort and planning to spend most of your time there, you may not need a rental car. That said, Hawaii is meant for exploring, and public transportation is minimal anywhere other than Oahu. If you decide to rent a car, you’ll find the best prices anywhere at Discount Hawaii Car Rental.

Hawaii wellness resorts
I have separated these Hawaii wellness resorts by island. You’ll find beautiful resorts with wellness activities on all four main Hawaii islands, as well as the island of Lanai!
Wellness resorts in Kauai
There is one resort in Kauai that is known for wellness and another that is an honorable mention for those looking for budget-friendly wellness resorts in Hawaii.
1 Hotel Hanalei Bay
Located on the North Shore, 1 Hotel Hanalei (formerly Princeville Resort and formerly the St. Regis Princeville) is one of the best resorts in Kauai and one of the most beautiful resorts in all of Hawaii.

Some unique wellness offerings at 1 Hotel Hanalei include:
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
- Chiropractic treatments
- Crystal healing therapies
- Sensory-deprivation tank
- Sound therapy
If you’re a golfer, you’ll love the Princeville Makai Golf Club, one of the highest-rated golf courses in Hawaii.
The ISO Kauai
While the ISO Kauai is not your typical wellness resort in Hawaii, I realize that not everyone has the budget for 1 Hotel Hanalei. The ISO is an affordable resort in Kauai with some wellness offerings. Daily yoga is included in your resort fee, and this boutique hotel has bikes that you can use for the day.
While the ISO is no frills, it’s a cute, boutique hotel right on the ocean in the surf town of Kapa’a. If you’re planning a Hawaii honeymoon on a budget, the ISO might fit the bill.

You can read my full ISO Kauai review. Current pricing is under $400/night which is quite low for Hawaii.
Wellness Resorts in Lanai
You’ll find one of the best wellness resorts in Hawaii at Sensei Lanai. This is also one of only two adults-only resorts in Hawaii!
Sensai Lanai is an adults-only Four Seasons Resort and arguably the most wellness-focused resort on this list. The resort has very unique offerings, from aerial yoga to sound healing, mindfulness classes, and more.
This resort is not on the beach but is located on 24 acres of lush forest in the heart of Lanai.
If you want a beachfront resort in Lanai that has wellness amenities, you’ll find that at the separate Four Seasons Lanai.
Don’t miss things to do in Lanai while you’re here!

Wellness Resorts in Maui
There are two wellness resorts in Maui that are worth mentioning: the Westin Maui Resort and Spa and Hana-Maui Resort. These two resorts are very different, one located in a resort area on the west side of the island and one being the sole resort on the island’s east side.
Westin Maui
Located on the stunning Ka’anapali Beach, this resort provides breathtaking ocean views and is one of the best places to see whales in Maui.
Westin is known as a wellness brand and prioritizes wellness through health-conscious dining options and fitness-focused amenities such as beachfront yoga, guided meditation, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The resort’s restaurants offer fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

Of course, the spa offers traditional Hawaiian massages, facials, and body therapies designed to promote relaxation and well-being. The resort also features multiple oceanfront pools, hot tubs, and a private adults-only area.
Although this is a great option for those wanting a wellness-oriented resort, it’s also located in one of the island’s two main resort areas with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and Maui activities.

Hana-Maui Resort
A lesser-known resort but one of my personal favorites, The Hana-Maui Resort is a perfect wellness retreat for those seeking peace, seclusion, and deep relaxation in one of Maui’s most breathtaking locations.
You’ll find the Hana-Maui Resort (formerly Travaasa Hana) in the town of Hana. This resort has both suites and bungalows providing something for everyone. I highly recommend a bungalow!
While this is not an adults-only property, the location makes it a less popular choice for families, so you may find less children here than many other Maui resorts.
Check out my full Hana-Maui Review here, along with YouTube videos of many different villa and bungalow options.

The resort’s wellness-focused spa treatments, including traditional Hawaiian healing therapies, massages, and facials, provide the ultimate relaxation experience. You’ll also find daily yoga and meditation sessions each morning.
All of the resort employees live in Hana, and they’re always happy to share stories about life in this secluded town! The restaurants are wonderful and offer local ingredients whenever possible.
Don’t miss my complete guide to the Road to Hana; you’ll either have to drive to get here or fly directly to Hana!
Wellness resorts in Oahu
If you’re looking for a wellness resort in Hawaii, I’ll generally steer you away from the hustle and bustle of Oahu. However, one resort stands out with some fantastic wellness options in the heart of Waikiki!
Alohilani Resort
‘Alohilani Resort is just steps from Waikiki Beach in the heart of Waikiki. One of the standout features is SWELL infinity pool and private cabanas, where guests can relax in a serene, tropical setting.
Spa U’ilani provides various treatments, including massages, facials, and holistic therapies that incorporate Hawaiian healing traditions. Additionally, the resort’s commitment to sustainability and biophilic design—integrating natural elements throughout the property—enhances the overall sense of tranquility and connection to nature, even while being located in the city!

Guests can also take part in beachfront yoga, meditation classes, and sunrise fitness sessions. Health-conscious options are available at the restaurants as well. Morimoto Asia, one of the most popular restaurants in Waikiki, is also located here.
Wellness resorts on the Big Island
There is one wellness resort on the Big Island that stands out above the rest: Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection. This also happens to be one of the best resorts for honeymoons on the Big Island.
Mauna Lani
Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection, recently underwent a 200-million-dollar renovation. The large, adults-only pool makes it a favorite for Big Island honeymoons.
One thing that makes Mauna Lani stand out as one of the best wellness resorts in Hawaii is their “Farm to Spa” spa menu. The spa uses locally sourced herbs, such as turmeric, honey, and flowers, in various treatments.
