The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a magical place; the shops are part of that experience. Today’s blog post features seven things to buy at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

For the experience, there are some things you need to purchase at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter but don’t worry; I also have a post about the things you should buy before going to Harry Potter World. So make sure you don’t miss that!

Do I need a rental car in Orlando?

I like to get around as needed while on vacation and rent a car. I recommend renting a car from Discount USA Car Rental.

Sadly, they do not have flying cars, but you don’t pay until arrival, so if you find a flying car elsewhere, you can cancel at any time.

Let’s get right to it. Here are 7 things you don’t want to miss at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Now, let’s get to the things to buy at the Wizarding World!

1. Interactive wand

An interactive wand is the #1 product you must buy at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you only buy one thing from this list, it should be this one.

In both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, you can visit Ollivander’s shop and watch a wand ceremony. You may even get chosen to participate!

Several years ago, my oldest son was “chosen” by a wand in the wand ceremony, which was fitting since it was his 11th birthday! Being a child and wearing a robe or other Harry Potter clothing will help your chances of being chosen for the wand ceremony.

Since then, my daughter has also been chosen for the wand ceremony.

Interactive wands are about $55, and non-interactive wands are about $47. It’s worth the extra money to get an interactive wand.

2. Butterbeer or another Wizarding favorite

You can’t visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter without trying a Butterbeer or another favorite Wizarding beverage!

If you are vegan or have any issues with dairy, there is no a dairy-free/vegan Butterbeer option. Other things like Pumpkin Juice are also dairy-free.

3. House robes at Madam Malkin’s

Even in the heat of the summer, you’ll see wizards walking around in house robes. What is the best place to buy your house robes?

Madam Malkin’s, of course. I recommend purchasing things like t-shirts, hats, etc., in advance because they’re pricey at the park, but one area where robes might be worth splurging. Robes start at around $100.

4. Every flavour beans or Chocolate frogs at Honeydukes

Raiding Honeydukes is a must at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you want a relatively inexpensive and fun treat, try Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Fizzing Whizbees, or other favorite wizard treats at Honeydukes.

The chocolate frogs come with trading cards that can be traded during normal times. They have not been trading the cards since reopening, but fingers crossed it will happen again soon. They also have dark chocolate frogs, which are oddly not dairy-free but are worth mentioning for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan since most would assume that they are dairy-free.

If you have allergies, you can always ask the kind attendants at Honeydukes to help you check the ingredients!

5. Postcards and stamps (send at Owl Post)

Purchasing postcards is a fun way to share magic with your friends back home. You can even send one to yourself! You can also have the cards stamped at the Owl Post and mail them directly from the park.

6. Pygmy Puff at Magical Menagerie

Pygmy Puffs are adorable creatures that are popular in the wizarding world. You can buy one at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and bring it back to the Muggle world. 😉

The keychain and small-size pygmy puffs are around $10. The huge pygmy puff is about $30. If a pygmy puff isn’t for you, plenty of other magical creatures are for sale at Magical Menagerie.

At Magical Menagerie, you can choose from Hedwig, Crookshanks, Fluffy, Buckbeak, Fang, Fawkes, and many more.

7. A magic potion

There are plenty of magical potions. If you want love, I recommend a Love Potion from Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. Have you already found love? Maybe some Felix Felicis (Liquid Luck) from Honeyduke’s (and other stores) will bring you luck instead.

If you’re fortunate enough to have a life full of love and luck, head to Eternelle’s Elixir of Refreshment. This small beverage kiosk sells potions that transform regular water into colorful, unique beverages. You can also purchase a “Gilly Water” to mix with your potion for about $4, but just so you know, Gilly Water is just plain water.

Choose from Fire Protection Potion, Babbling Beverage, Elixir to Induce Euphoria, and Draught of Peace.
