Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt Kauai

If you’ve been here before, you know that Grand Hyatt Kauai is one of my favorite resorts in Kauai. Check out my full Grand Hyatt Kauai review here. Even if you’re not staying at the Grand Hyatt, I highly recommend dining at Tidepools during your Kauai vacation. 

Tidepools is an open-air restaurant featuring modern island-style cuisine. It overlooks a beautiful lagoon filled with koi fish. Tidepools prioritizes local ingredients, and it’s easily one of the best restaurants in Kauai for steak and seafood.

Duke’s Kauai

Named after surf legend Duke Kahanamoku, Duke’s Kauai sits directly on Kalapaki Beach. This restaurant has stunning ocean and mountain views. 

Duke’s is open daily from 4:15 to 9 PM. On Sunday, it opens at 9:00 AM for brunch until noon. Barefoot Bar is also open daily from 11:00 AM to 9 PM. Don’t miss Taco Tuesdays at Barefoot Bar—you can thank me later!

Don’t miss this favorite for locals and tourists, especially if you’re staying near Lihue.

RumFire Poipu Beach at Sheraton Kauai

RumFire is one of the beachfront restaurants in Kauai and is located at the Sheraton Kauai. Lava’s on Poipu Beach is also located at the Sheraton and is a great lunch spot! Dinner reservations are recommended at Rumfire. 

Serving modern Hawaii cuisine, dinner is available Thursday-Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM. 

Lava Lava Beach Club

Located at Kauai Shores Hotel, Lava Lava Beach Club is the only Kauai restaurant where you can “dine with your toes in the sand.” This restaurant is unique as it is first-come, first-serve and is for in-person dining only. 

Breakfast is available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Lunch from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Light Fares and Liquid Happy Hour from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Dinner Service is from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM. 

You can also enjoy live island music from 3 PM to 9 PM every day. If you ever find yourself on the Big Island of Hawaii, that location is also phenomenal! 

Oasis on the Beach

Kauai’s first farm-to-table restaurant is about as oceanfront as you can get! Oasis on the Beach is committed to supporting the local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. This restaurant is located within Waipouli Beach Resort, but I recommend checking it out no matter where you’re staying on Kauai.

You’ll find lots of seafood options along with modern Hawaiian cuisine. Oasis on the Beach offers many vegetarian options as well. Oasis is open from 4 PM to 9 PM Monday-Saturday and has Happy Hour on Wednesday from 3 PM to 5 PM.

The Beach House

The Beach House is not surprisingly located directly on the beach in Koloa. This open-air restaurant offers ocean views or partial ocean views from every seat! Reservations are not required, but I recommend one, especially during busier times of the year. This restaurant is open daily for dinner from 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Happy Hour is from 3:30 to 4:30, and live music is from 3:30 to 5:30 PM every day. The fish at the Beach House is sourced directly from Kauai fishermen. Beef and coffee, along with much of the produce, come from local farms.
