Secrets the Vine Review
Secrets the Vine is one of the best adults-only, all-inclusive resorts in the hotel zone. In this Secrets the Vine Review, I will share everything you need to know about this resort. As a Travel Agent who books many adults-only and honeymoon trips, I love Secrets Resorts. However, this resort differs slightly from most Secret resorts in the Cancun area.
If you prefer a visual tour, check out my Secrets the Vine Review and Tour of YouTube! If you’re planning a honeymoon or adults-only vacation in Cancun, I’d love to help you! Should I tip at Secrets Resorts?
PLEASE tip at Secrets Resorts and other all-inclusive except Sandals or anywhere that strictly forbids it. Even if it says tips are included, please know that most service employees are not well and appreciate your tips!
A helpful guide to tipping is $5 for breakfast, $10+ for lunch or dinner, and $1-2 for drinks. This is a minimum; please tip generously to those who make your vacation so great! You should also tip housekeeping or anyone who helps you in any way. If you can tip more, by all means, do so. Your tips are appreciated, and they do remember who tips well!
Secrets the Vine Overview
Secrets the Vine is a 397-room resort in the heart of Cancun’s hotel zone. There are many Secrets Resorts in the Cancun-Playa del Carmen-Riviera Maya area, but Secrete the Vine differs for a few reasons. Most Secrets Resorts in the area are sprawling resorts with a big footprint. This can be nice, but it also means that you can walk a long way from your room to the beach.
This is not the case at Secrets the Vine! Secrets the Vine is built up, and not out, making it a much more suitable option for those with limited mobility or who don’t prefer a lot of walking. Furthermore, the famous Hotel Zone area and its proximity to the airport make the resort even more appealing.
As with all Secrets, I recommend the “Preferred Club” option, which gives you better room views, access to the preferred club, and even a special Preferred Club restaurant and pool.
What is very unique about this resort is that, like the Hyatt Zilara, another favorite of mine, all rooms have an ocean view! The resort is set up uniquely to offer ocean views from every room.
With many dining options, a fantastic spa, a great gym, and plenty of pools and things to do, it’s hard to go wrong with Secrets the Vine.
Secrets the Vine FAQ
Before we start, let’s review some Secrets the Vine FAQs.
Where is Secrets the Vine Located?
Secrets the Vine is located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone, only about 20 minutes from the airport.
Is Secrets the Vine good for honeymoons?
YES! Like all Secrets Resorts, Secrets the Vine is great for honeymooners. This resort caters to couples a bit more and has a more laid-back vibe compared to some of the more party-centered resorts. Don’t worry; if nightlife is what you’re after, the resort has plenty of nightly entertainment!
Even if that isn’t enough, you are minutes from nightlife further into the hotel zone.
As a honeymoon travel agent who visits and books Cancun often, I’m regularly asked about my favorite adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Cancun. I also recommend Le Blanc Spa Resort and Hyatt Zilara Cancun for two other fantastic honeymoon resorts in Cancun.
Pros and Cons
Here are some Secrets the Vine Pros and cons.
Secrets the Vine Pros:
- Close to the airport
- On a great beach with fewer seaweed options than the Secrets Resorts further toward Playa del Carmen.
- Seven restaurants and a coffee shop
- Four pools with ocean views
- A full-service spa
- The fitness center overlooks the ocean
- Lots of daily activities included
- Great for honeymooners and couples
- A smaller footprint than most Secrets means it’s more easily accessible without a lot of walking
- Easy access to shopping, dining, and nightlife if you want to leave the resort
Secrets the Vine Cons:
- It is not as secluded as other Secrets Resorts, which could be a pro, but it has a different “vibe” than, say, Secrets Moxche or Akumal.
- Limited Nightlife. If you’re after nightlife, I recommend a livelier resort like Breathless. Secrets tend to cater to honeymooners or older adults.
- Limited pool lounger space. This seems to be less of a problem in the Preferred Club area.
rooms at secrets the vine
Secrets the Vine offers 397 rooms, so it’s pretty “mid-size” by Cancun standards. The Club Level rooms are on the higher floors, offering better views. However, all rooms at this resort have an ocean view!
Rooms start at 475 square feet and are both modern and spacious. Other room types include Junior Suites, Presidential Suites, and honeymoon suites.
I highly recommend Preferred Club if it fits within your budget. I always choose Preferred Club at Secrets Resorts and love the exclusive pool and restaurant.
Secrets the Vine Beach
This resort is located in the hotel zone and is on a great stretch of the beach. Seaweed (sargassum) can be an issue further towards Playa del Carmen but is less of an issue in the hotel zone. Furthermore, the resort does clean it daily.
Secrets the Vine Pools
This resort offers two infinity pools and two terrace pools. There are also oceanview hot tubs. Preferred Club has its own pool, and I always prefer the Preferred Club pools at Secrets Resorts! They are often (but not always) quieter.
Secrets the Vine Activities
You will find plenty of activities at Secrets the Vine during the day and at night. Activities range from yoga to pool activities and include:
- Live musical performances
- Theme nights and beach parties
- Spectacular gala shows
- Weekly manager’s cocktail party
- Beach and pool volleyball
Secrets the Vine Fitness and Spa
This resort has an amazing spa with some great views. It’s set up very differently than most Secrets Resorts, with the spa being on a higher floor. The fitness center is on the smaller side but overlooks the ocean. How can you beat that?
Overall review of Secrets the Vine
Overall, Secrets the Vine is a great choice for an all-inclusive, adults-only resort in Cancun. If you’re looking for something more secluded, you’ll have to head outside the hotel zone. I absolutely love Secrets Moxche if you don’t mind a bit of a drive from the airport!
Would I recommend Secrets the Vine? Absolutely! As a travel agent, I book many couples here, and I’ve also booked some friend groups here. It’s a great spot for a friend group vacation, bachelorette vacation, babymoon, honeymoon, or anniversary!
My top recommendation would be getting a Club Level room for the best views and a club-only restaurant and pool. You can see more of that on my YouTube video tour of Secrets the Vine.
