The best Oahu luaus
“What is the best luau on Oahu?” As a Hawaii Travel Agent, I get this question a lot. Oahu is the most popular island in Hawaii for tourism, and a luau is a bucket-list Hawaii item for almost everyone. It makes sense that you’d want to figure out the best Oahu luau before you go.

Do I need a rental car in Oahu?
If you don’t have a rental car yet, I recommend Discount Hawaii Car Rental. You’ll find the best deals on any of the Hawaiian Islands. Although you can navigate Oahu without a rental car, I recommend one because the most beautiful parts of Oahu are outside of the popular Waikiki area!

What is the best luau in Oahu?
Not surprisingly, Oahu has plenty of options when it comes to luaus. After all, Oahu has the highest population in Hawaii (by a lot) and almost sees the most tourism.
If you’re looking for a great luau on other islands, make sure to check out the best luaus in Hawaii or the best luau on Maui.
Here are the ten best luaus in Oahu, in no particular order.

1. Mauka Warriors Luau
One of the highest-rated luaus in all of Hawaii, Mauka Warriors Luau is a go-to for my clients. Pickups can be arranged if you do not have a rental car.
You’ll enjoy an authentic buffet-style feast (all-you-can-eat) with a great show featuring fire dancing, history, and more.
2. Chief’s Luau
Chief Sielu, a comedian and world-champion fire-knife dancer, hosts Chief’s Luau. The skills of Chief Sielu make this luau one of the best luaus in Hawaii. You can learn to headband weave, take a hula class, and enjoy the buffet feast.
Chief’s Luau is another one that has had rave reviews from many of my clients.
3. Germaine’s Luau
Germaine’s luau is an authentic ohana (family) luau featuring Hawaiian barbecue. This is one of my personal favorites! The luau performances include the Samoan Fire-Knife dance and Samoan Slap Dance.

4. Toa Luau at Waimea Valley
At the Toa Luau, guests will spend an afternoon immersed in Hawaiian culture with dance performances, dinner, and entrance to Waimea Valley. This buffet-style luau includes tickets to Waimea Valley at the price of admission.

5. Rock-a-Hula Luau Buffet and Show
The popular Rock-a-Hula show consists of a buffet-style luau, live Hawaiian music, and a meet-and-greet with the cast members. Although this would not be my first choice, I’ve had a few clients do this buffet and show, and they really enjoy it!
6. Ka Moana Luau
Ka Moana Luau is a traditional Hawaiian Luau in a scenic location. The evening begins with a variety of cultural activities. Learn to play the ukulele, string a flower lei, or dance hula, and then sit down for a buffet dinner with a large selection of Hawaiian specialties like Kalua pork and grilled Mahi Mahi.

7. Ne Lei Aloha Luau
This boutique luau in Hawaii is unique and located in the heart of Waikiki. Ne Lei Aloha Luau focuses on Hawaii, which is different than many other shows that cover other Polynesian Islands.
This is a buffet luau, but it is a unique experience in Waikiki and perfect for those who don’t want to venture too far for a luau.
8. Ali’i Luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center
Ali’i Luau is one that you don’t want to miss. This buffet-style luau takes place at the Polynesian Cultural Center, also a must-see on Oahu. This luau also has several vegetarian options.

9. Waikiki Starlight Luau by Hilton
The Waikiki Starlight Luau at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach is one of the most popular luaus in Oahu. This rooftop luau features a buffet and hula and fire-dance performers.
10. Queens Waikiki Luau
Queens Waikiki Luau is located in the heart of Waikiki at the International Market Place. You will enjoy delicious traditional Hawaiian food and an authentic Polynesian show at this luau.

10 best things to do in Oahu
Some luaus do not sell tickets to singles. Please include this information in your descriptions. It’s very depressing to look forward to something only to find out I can’t participate because I am a widow traveling alone.
Thank you.
I am sorry to hear that! I have booked luau tickets for singles so I have not seen that in my experience, but I am sorry you ran into that situation!
My friends and I just went to a luau at Paradise Cove. It was terrible! Overpriced, too big, tables far from the entertainment, and the food was awful. Everything was so salty and it was utterly unimpressive.
Interesting. I’ve had clients go to that luau recently, and they were happy with it. I appreciate your opinion, I’ll keep an eye on that.
