Everything You Need to Know About Sandals Dunn’s River

Sandals Dunn’s River is an adults-only, all-inclusive Sandals resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It opened in 2023, and it sits on the north coast near Sandals Ochi.

You also get full access to Sandals Ochi, so you have even more restaurants and bars to choose from. Dunn’s River is open after Hurricane Melissa. It reopened on December 6, 2025.

Where is Sandals Dunn’s River?

Sandals Dunn’s River is on Mammee Bay, on Jamaica’s north coast, just west of Ocho Rios. It’s named after Dunn’s River Falls, the nearby famous waterfall.

Sandals Ochi is also in Ocho Rios. If you stay at Dunn’s River, you can also eat and drink at Sandals Ochi. That’s a big reason couples pick this resort.

Visiting Dunn’s River Falls is a paid excursion. It isn’t included in your stay.

What rooms are at Sandals Dunn’s River?

Sandals Dunn’s River has three levels of rooms: Luxury, Club Level, and Butler. Most rooms have a balcony and a Tranquility Soaking Tub.

Club Level adds perks like a private lounge. Butler suites come with a butler and 24-hour room service. Here’s how they break down:

• Butler suites: the Coyaba Swim-up Rondoval Butler Suites with a private pool, the Tufa Terrace Skypool Butler Suites, the Tufa Terrace Swim-up Butler Suites, and the Mammee Bay Beachfront and Oceanview Butler Suites
• Club Level: the Travertine Beachfront Club Level Rooms (including Penthouse rooms) and the Mammee Bay Club Level Rooms and Junior Suites
• Luxury: the Travertine Luxury Rooms

What are the best rooms at Sandals Dunn’s River?

The Coyaba Swim-up Rondoval Butler Suites are the top rooms at Sandals Dunn’s River. Each one is a round villa with a private pool and butler service.

The Tufa Terrace Skypool Butler Suites are the other standout. They have an infinity pool on the balcony, and they were the first SkyPool suites in Jamaica.

If you won’t spend much time in your room, a Club Level room is a good value. You still get a balcony and a soaking tub.

Every Butler-level suite comes with a butler. They can book your dinners, set up your cabana, unpack your bags, and plan your excursions.

There are 12 restaurants and cafes at Sandals Dunn’s River. Most are casual and don’t need a reservation. L’Amande is the one that does.

Saltaire is the only buffet. The rest are sit-down restaurants, plus a few casual lunch spots.

Saltaire:

Saltaire serves international food for breakfast and lunch. It’s the resort’s buffet, and it’s open air.

Banyu:

Banyu is a Pan-Asian restaurant open for dinner. The menu has sushi, pad Thai, and chicken satay.

Cascata:

Cascata is the Italian restaurant, open for dinner. Expect pasta, seafood, and classic Italian dishes.

L’Amande:

L’Amande serves classic French food at dinner. It’s the only restaurant here that needs a reservation.

Zuka:

Zuka is a South American restaurant open for dinner. You can sit inside or outside.

Edessa:

Edessa serves Mediterranean food for breakfast and dinner. It has ocean views.

Isola:

Isola is a Neapolitan pizzeria open for lunch and the afternoon. The pizza is made in a brick oven.

Hanami:

Hanami is a sushi restaurant open for dinner.

Dunn’s Rum Club:

Dunn’s Rum Club is a bar with snacks and small plates. It’s open late, and it has pool tables and dominoes.

Blum:

Blum is the coffee shop. It’s open from early morning until 10 PM, with pastries and Jamaican patties.

The Jerk Shack:

The Jerk Shack serves Jamaican jerk for lunch every day.

Galene:

Galene is a seaside grill open for lunch. It’s right on the beach.

Golf is included at Sandals Dunn’s River. You get green fees and round-trip transfers to the 18-hole Sandals Golf & Country Club in Ocho Rios. Here are the best Sandals resorts for golf.

Scuba diving is included for certified divers. You can also get certified at the resort for an extra fee.

Snorkeling, kayaks, and paddleboards are all included. The pools are set up like a river, with two main pools and two river pools.

At night, there’s live entertainment and themed nights. Dunn’s Rum Club is open until 2 AM.

The Red Lane Spa is not included, so book treatments ahead if you want them.

How do you get to Sandals Dunn’s River?

The closest airport is Ian Fleming International (OCJ) in Ocho Rios. It’s about 30 minutes from the resort, but you won’t find many flights here.

Most people fly into Sangster International (MBJ) in Montego Bay. It’s about 90 minutes from the resort. Round-trip transfers are included.
