Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort Review
In this Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort Review, we’ll explore the restaurants, amenities, and features of the Andaz Maui.
The Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is a boutique-style resort located on the south side of Maui. It is one of the newest resorts in Wailea and, in my opinion, one of the best resorts for honeymoons in Maui!
If you want a resort that is lots of fun for young families, check out my Hyatt Regency Maui Review.
If you don’t have a rental car yet, I recommend Discount Hawaii Car Rental. This is my go-to for rental cars on all of the Hawaiian islands, including Maui!
Is the Andaz Maui Adults only?
The Andaz Maui is not adults only. However, it is adult-oriented and lacks some of the other resorts’ family amenities. For example, there is no Kids Club at the Andaz Maui, and most activities are geared toward adults. You may see families with very young kids or teens, but it’s not the first resort I’d recommend to families.
If you have very young children (too young for a kids club) or older teens, they might have fun. My 15-year-old enjoyed the Andaz, but he’s a very mature 15 and didn’t mind doing activities without other kids.
If you’re looking for a truly adults-only hotel in Maui, check out my Hotel Wailea Review (The only adults-only Maui resort.)
The Andaz is my #1 recommended hotel for honeymooners as someone specializing in Hawaii honeymoons!
Overview of the Andaz Maui
The Andaz Maui at Wailea is set on 15 oceanfront acres in beautiful Wailea. You’ll find 320 rooms and suites at this boutique hotel in Maui, including both suites and luxury villas. The Andaz has one of the best luaus on the island – the Feast at Mokapu – and some of the best restaurants in Wailea.
The resort is dedicated to sustainability, and you’ll see that through the farm-to-table dining, reusable water bottles and filling stations, the lack of single-use toiletries, and so much more.
The Andaz Maui has an incredible spa along with a fantastic gym. You’ll also find activities such as yoga and laying included in your resort fee. The infinity pools are one of the highlights of the resort, and you’ll even find an adults-only pool tucked away in a quiet area of the resort.
Now, let’s get into more details at the Andaz Maui.
Restaurants at the Andaz Maui
Here are the restaurants at the Andaz Maui. Even if you don’t stay at the Andaz, I highly recommend checking them out!
Ka’ana Kitchen
Ka’ana Kitchen is easily the best breakfast spot in Maui! When touring another resort, the Hotel Manager told me that the managers in the area often gather at Ka’ana Kitchen because they all love it. It’s *that* good!
I have Celiac disease and am strictly gluten-free, and the Chef was extremely helpful in letting me know what I could and couldn’t eat. Everything is well-marked, so if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, you will find something for you.
Mochi waffles, chicken sausage, farm-fresh eggs, and fresh pineapple are all gluten-free!
Ka’ana Kitchen also offers dinner in the evenings.
Morimoto Asia
Morimoto Maui blends Japanese and Western Cuisine and is often named one of the best restaurants in Maui. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and offers sushi and sashimi.
Feast at Mokapu Luau
If you’re looking for an upscale, plated luau, look no further than the Feast at Mokapu. For adults or anyone looking for a nicer luau, I always recommend the Feast at Mokapu, especially if you’re staying onsite or in the Wailea area.
Lehua Lounge
Lehua Lounge is open daily from 11 AM to 11 PM. With farm-to-table dining, artisan cocktails, beautiful scenery, and live music daily from 6 PM – 9 PM, what more could you need?
Bumbeye Beach Bar
Dine by the pool with snacks, burgers, tacos, and local favorites at Bumbeye Beach Bar. Of course, you’ll also find quite a selection of cocktails.
Accommodations at the Andaz Maui
Considered a boutique resort, the Andaz Maui has only 320 rooms, including 35 suites and 30 luxury villas. Choose from a resort view (the most economical option), partial ocean view, ocean view, and oceanfront options. It’s hard to have a bad view at the Andaz!
We have room tours for the suites, rooms, and villas on YouTube.
Wellness at Andaz Maui at Wailea
The resort has a gym equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including Peloton bikes.
Downstairs, you’ll find the ‘Awili Spa and Salon. This premium spa offers couples packages, massages, body treatments, facials, and more.
If you’re planning a wedding, event, or even just a special dinner, the salon is the perfect place for hair cuts, color, or styling. You can also enjoy a manicure or pedicure, and there are options for lashes.
Pools and activities at Andaz Maui
The Andaz Maui has several unique pools, including infinity pools with waterfalls. One pool is even open 24 hours a day. The pools have plenty of chairs and loungers, but cabanas are available to reserve if you’d like to have one.
This resort has no swim-up bar, but don’t worry; drinks are always available nearby. If you want a resort with a swim-up bar, check out: Are there pools in Maui with swim-up bars?
Getting pool videos for our Andaz Maui Resort Tour on YouTube.
You’ll also find an adults-only pool tucked away in a quieter part of the resort. There are also three rooms with a semi-private pool near the adults-only pool, should you like a private pool experience!
Speaking of private pools, some of the villas have one too! Check out my YouTube video tour of the Ilikai Villas here.
There are many activities included in your stay at the Andaz Maui. You’ll get a list of current activities at check-in. Some do require reservations, but most are included in your resort fee! My son went kayaking and enjoyed it.
The Beach at the Andaz Maui
The Andaz Maui is located on Mokapu Beach. It’s a smaller beach but much quieter than many of the other larger beaches in the area. You can see stunning views of West Maui, Kaho’olawe, Molokini Crater, and even Lanai!
Andaz Artist in Residence
One of my favorite things about the resort is the “Andaz Artist in Residence.” Currently, you’ll find Welzie Art at the Andaz, with art pieces all around the resort. Welzie Art is so fun! I had to bring a piece home with me, and I want to buy more!
The unique art is created with surfboard foam, fiberglass, and resin; each piece is hand-sculpted. Walk all around the resort to find your favorite pieces, and don’t forget to check out the art gallery, where you can even take classes.
Should you stay at the Andaz Maui?
The Andaz is one of my favorite resorts in Maui. It’s easily one of the best resorts in Maui for adults and is even a good fit for some families. As a Hawaii Travel Agent, I highly recommend it. The service is excellent, the food is great, there are plenty of amenities for it being a smaller resort, and you can’t ask for a better location.
